The Women Behind the*gameHERs
Who We Are & Who We’re Not

We ARE four incredibly passionate women and entrepreneurs who have a proven track record of building authentic, engaging, and supportive communities for women. One of us built and sold her first business by handing post cards out to moms on the streets of NYC back in 2006. One of us is an educator and leadership coach who travels the world facilitating engaging discussions on race and its impact on our lives. Two of us are toy inventors in the e-Sports space, working for the visionary behind Pokémon, Cabbage Patch Kids, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & many other iconic hits. Oh, and we also know, love, and raise a few young gamers (AKA our kids!) who eat us out of house & home.

Through our work, we all noticed a need for a community specifically for all kinds of women in gaming. Female gamers represent almost half the gamers in the world, yet many have expressed a need to be genuinely heard, seen, and quite honestly known for how great they are.

the*gameHERs is a place for all kinds of women gamers and developers to come together online and in-person to meet, support each other, and most of all, have some fun! Play hard, play harder right?

We’ve met many of you already when researching the idea for the*gamerHERs community and are looking forward to getting to know the rest of you!

Heather, Laura, Rebecca & Verta

P.S. A big thank-you to all the gamers, developers, video game cast members, and industry experts who believe in our mission and have agreed to support us in building this community!
