You notice pretty early on how gamer girls are treated in the online community, and sometimes that makes you feel like you don’t belong or that you should have other hobbies. That inspired me to pursue a career in the male-dominated field of esports. Not only do I want to show and inspire girls to pursue a career in gaming, but I also want them to be proud of their heritage. My Mexican culture has shaped the way I connect with others, and with every change in the world, it confirms to me that more than ever, I have to stand tall and inspire others to do what they love, regardless of their culture, nationality, or gender.

I advocate for Latin America in gaming by helping create real opportunities for players and industry talent from underserved communities. Through my organization, Deer Army Esports, I support not only competitors but also commentators, bracket runners, brand ambassadors, and event staff, mainly from third-world countries, so they can grow within the industry. With over 13 years in gaming as a community manager, competitor, and organizer, I work to make gaming spaces more inclusive and visible for Latino voices. I believe representation changes lives, and my goal is to help others find a path in gaming that once felt out of reach.

Through community tournaments, women-led initiatives, and consistent advocacy, I work to challenge stereotypes, amplify Indigenous voices, and show that we belong in esports, not just as players, but as leaders.

HI! I am Anais. I am a queer, Puerto Rican creator who cosplays, streams on twitch, and makes content. I absolutely love having a community where people feel like they can be their authentic self and belong here. I am always promoting small, indie games to give them more reach that they might not have had previously. I do quarterly charity streams to help fundraise for marginalized people to get opportunities in the gaming industry. I go by my moniker "Buffy" and I am accepting this nomination on behalf of the advocacy work I do to represent Latinas on a broad stage in fitness, esports, cosplay, and now in the world of busines. Whether it's in the Twitch Latin Guild connecting women and my Latine folks with opportunities with big companies or teaching them how to do brand outreach, market themselves, and give them the knowledge that many of us have lacked to become successful in our careers, my goal has always been to make the path forward and give Latinas a seat at my table and provide them the skills and knowledge so that they don't have to struggle anymore.

I’m a Black queer Sims streamer and industrial–organizational psychologist who built The Psyched Ward, a mental-health–aware, LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC-centered community on Twitch. My goal is to make gaming feel like a place where marginalized folks can exhale. Through cozy-chaotic gameplay, honest conversations about identity and wellbeing, and intentional moderation, I create a space where people feel seen, safe, and celebrated. Outside of stream, I mentor emerging creators, talk openly about burnout and boundaries, and use charity events and collaborations to model what equitable, community-first gaming can look like.

Jennifer Javornik

Jennifer Javornik

she/her

I’m Jennifer Javornik, and my work is focused on video games for positive impact. I created Mashallah! after reverting to Islam and realizing how few games represented Muslim life with warmth, accuracy, and joy. The game invites players of all backgrounds to experience Islam through everyday moments, friendships, and learning, without assumptions or preaching. This work focuses on using play to make the underrepresented visible, human, and accessible, especially for children. Representation matters, and games are a powerful way to help young players see others, and themselves, with curiosity and respect.

Acceptance and visibility are at the core of why I started streaming. An entire world was opened to me, and I was introduced to so many walks of life. I am a better person because I found streaming. It has become part of my mission to provide spaces and be vocal about the importance of visibility for all people. You deserve love for being exactly who you are. You deserve care and affection. Everyone deserves a community where they can act, feel and game openly. I strive to be the best version of myself and encourage others to do the same.
